The space between the upright and the rafters on a Kingpost truss make them ideal for facilitating storage areas. Many customers wish to make the most of this structure, particularly in the case of garages and on request, we can increase the timber sizes of the truss to allow for additional weight loading.
Please be assured that our designers will always take the time to understand the requirements of your project and will advise which truss solution may give you best possible outcome which maintains feasibility and is economic.
Equally, should you require a truss that is able to span more than 4 metres then please look at our Roof Truss Types page where we give you a brief overview of the various types of trusses that we can manufacture in-house for you. Our truss types can loosely be categorized by the spans that they’re able to achieve or the desired headroom height that you require.
Whilst Kingpost trusses provide a simple and effective solution to prefabricated roofs, they can be amended to suit your build. For instance, below is an image of a series of eight trusses we supplied for a small extension in Stockton spanning 2640mm. In order to match in with the existing roof height, our designer, Jon, added a stub end detail to the Kingpost to raise the vertical heel height of the truss.
