iJoists, also known as I-beams or engineered timber joists, are a common solution for construction in residential buildings and are also widely used in flat roof systems. Shaped like the capital letter ‘I’, they consist of two horizontal flanges made from slow-grown, strength-graded timber (typically C18, C24 or C30) and a vertical web made from OSB/3 or moisture-resistant particleboard. At Minera, we exclusively use Masonite Beams for our iJoist systems due to their exceptional strength, light weight, and dimensional stability.
