EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – TRAINEE ROOF TRUSS & JOIST DESIGNER

Minera Roof Trusses & Joists have a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team. We are looking for someone who is prepared to learn, eager to progress and willing to work hard. You will join our family-owned company and complete our in-house training program, mentored by members of our highly experienced Design Team. There is potential for the right candidate to grow into a long and successful career – our average length of service is over 10 years.

We design and manufacture timber roof trusses & engineered joists using ITW’s Gang Nail software. We set the highest standards of quality in everything we do, providing our customers with complete solutions and all the help they may require on their project. We are also a founding member of the Trussed Rafter Association (TRA). 

JOB TITLE                          

Trainee Roof Truss & Joist Designer

JOB ROLE                          

Learn everything you need to know about roof truss & joist design, in order to provide solutions for our customer’s residential and commercial projects. With guidance and training from our Design Team, you will also gain an official qualification in Trussed Rafter Design.

As a member of our Design Team you will be liaising with builders, architects, merchants and the general public; providing truss & joist designs in a timely manner ready for manufacture and delivery. Your work will involve interpreting and working with technical drawings to provide the best solutions to fit the requirements of each individual client.

SKILLS                                

Required

• Experience or an interest in CAD
• Strong numerical skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred

• Graduates from architectural/construction discipline
• Qualifications in Maths and/or Design would be an advantage

DETAILS                             

Hours   Full-time, 8:30 – 5:00

Pay        Dependant on experience, plus bonus. Benefits to be discussed at interview
