I am building a new house/extension and require roof trusses and/or
floor joists. What do I need to do?
A.
We ideally like to work from a set of Architects or Builders drawings
which include plans, sections and elevations, but we are happy to provide
a quotation from a sketch or a list of trusses that you require.

How can I send you my drawings?
A.
Getting your drawings to ourselves is simple. You can post your drawings to
us, fax them on (01978) 750293, by personal visit to our offices, or by email, but
the easiest solution and quickest, is to use our
online quotation form.

Where in the country do you deliver?
A.
Minera Roof Trusses deliver nationwide in the UK mainland (England, Wales, Scotland).

What is
your delivery period?
A.
We are proud that we have been able to offer a 5 working days delivery service,
for the past 20 years.
Q.
What will my quotation include?
A.
The estimating department will prepare a detailed,
itemised quotation listing all the items that you require for your
project. This is usually all roof trusses, stability bracing (100x22),
timber to timber metalwork and all structural loose timber above wallplate.
For engineered floor joists quotations it will include floor joists, stud wall noggins,
timber to timber hangers and z-clips.

How much extra is delivery?
A.
The quotation that we prepare you includes for the delivery of the order
to your site address.
Q.
Do you
provide drawings or calculations?
A.
Drawings of every truss and layout setting out drawings are supplied with the
itemised detailed roof truss quotation. The quotation and drawing service is supplied
to yourselves, free of charge.
A copy of calculations for roof trusses can be supplied (upon placement of an order) to yourselves
or direct to building control.

Can I have my roof trusses and timber treated with a preservative?
A.
Yes; we can supply
products that have been treated with Protim Osmose , which is a water based environmentally and
human friendly preservative.
We also stock cans of Protim's
cut end preservative which you will require once you have
cut your loose timber on site. This is easily brushed on the untreated ends of the timber.

Can I
purchase other materials for my roof?
A.
To help speed up your installation of your roof on site,
Minera Roof Trusses can on request, also supply you prefabricated items
made ready for quick installation on site. These include gable ladders,
valley sets, spandrel panels,
prefabricated dormer trusses and versalam beams.
Minera Roof Trusses can also
supply you with bolts for girder trusses and square twisted wire
nails for your metalwork and Glide Shoes, a metalwork connector
for raised tie trusses.

Since the quotation, there have been alterations on site to my building. What happens now?
A.
The project controller can check the measurements
that we require for each truss span and mark the alterations on the quotation form, or directly
onto the truss profile drawings that we sent you along with the quotation.
If there is a significant difference, then you can send in a new set of drawings and we can
reissue the revised drawings to suit the new site dimensions.
We offer a site survey facility for locations within 75mile radius of
our factory, on payment of a fee.

The Quotation is accpetable. How do I proceed?
A.
Ordering with Minera Roof Trusses is simple. You can telephone us and let us know
that you wish to order. Our friendly and helpful staff will then be able to guide you through the process.
Or if you wish, you can sign the documents that you have received with your quotation and return them to
ourselves with payment in the form of one of the options detailed below.

What payments do you accept?
A.
Minera Roof Trusses accept payment for your order via
Maestro, Visa Debit, Electron, Solo, Mastercard*, Visa*, Direct transfer
to our account via CHAPS or BACS, cheque or Cash delivered by hand to
our reception.
* Mastercard and Visa require a 2.5% surcharge.
Q.
How do I arrange a delivery date?
A.
Our deliveries are scheduled by our production manager to determine
a day for your delivery which is 5 working days from when you
place your order. If you do not require them that soon, then please
let us know when placing your order.
If you need the delivery to arrive to meet a crane on site, then
please let us know when placing the order.
The production manager may send
you a transport request form to let you know how many persons will be required
on site to meet our wagon, or whether you will need a crane or telescopic fork lift
truck to unload heavy and awkward shaped loads and to enquire about site access restrictions.
If you need to know the time for your delivery, you can give us a call on the day before,
and we will then have a good idea as to what time your delivery should be with you.

Are you
a member of a trade association?
A. Yes; we were one of the
founder members of the Truss Rafter Association
(TRA) formed to represent the interests of the
pre-fabricated roof truss industry, which only
permits membership to manufacturers who have the
highest standards of Quality Assurance and a
specified level of Professional Indemnity
Insurance.

Q.
My trusses are installed and I want to make a change?
A.
Unfortunately, no alterations can be carried out to any truss without
consultation with Minera Roof Trusses.
Any work that may alter the structure at a later date should of be discussed
with Minera Roof Trusses BEFORE the
manufacturing process has begun, ideally when the project is in Order Stage.
Occasionally it may be possible to carry out a remedial detail on site to the affected
roof trusses by our Engineers and there is likely to be a cost involved.
